3/23/2020 - There is now a confirmed care of Coronavirus in Cambria County. Due to this, I am going to be doing Telehealth/Virtual Therapy exclusively for the foreseeable future. I feel it is in the best interest of myself, my clients, and the healthcare workers everywhere who have to try to compete with his fast spreading illness. I will resume face-to-face sessions as soon as the virus appears to be on the decline in this area. Telehealth/Virtual Therapy has been proven to be a very effective treatment modality and has obvious benefits such as being able to get services in the comfort of your own home while also improving show rates. Once there, you will be directed to enter your name and will be place in a virtual waiting room until your session time. If you lack these capabilities than I can also do a regular phone call as well. I ti critical to maintain progress in psychotherapy to continue sessions. I will be sending consent forms via e-mail to all clients in advance of their Telehealth appointments and these MUST be filled out and returned to me via, e-mail, fax, or screenshot message prior to initiating these sessions. I can also place it on the therapy portal for you to electronically sign if this is more convenient. As usual, if there are any questions or concerns you may feel free to call or e-mail me.
3/21/2020 - I now have the capability to provide Telehealth services for medical assistance recipients in Bedford, Somerset, and Cambria counties. I will still hold regular office hours as well and this is NOT mandatory. This is an alternative for those who want no disruption in their care but do not want to risk contamination.
3/20/2020 - The governor of Pennsylvania has mandated that all non-life-sustaining businesses close in order to help alleviate the spread of the Coronavirus. After doing some research it was determined that outpatient therapist offices are considered under the "Other Healthcare Professionals" designation. This means that, until directly notified to close, I will remain open and will see clients at the office. I do ask that anyone who is experiencing any symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat, cough, congestion, shortness of breath, fever, chills, etc. to remain at home until those symptoms have passed. Any cancellation fees will be waived until further notice.
3/19/2020 - Due to the number of cancellations in relation to the Coronavirus pandemic, I will be offering Telehealth services within the next few days. I can understand the desire to remain at home to avoid exposure to this virus but also recognize the need for mental health services at this time. If you have any questions about the Telehealth services or about in-office appointments feel free to reach out to me via phone at 814-254-4588 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Rest assured that I will be taking every precaution to keep my office space sanitized and that clients will be expected to wash hands or sanitize prior to entering.
